If he was your older brother, you should've listened to him.
We would be on a good Crappie bite and doing well after we had a few in the live well I would reel up and go searching, for new spots. To me it was the ideal time to find new spots it makes finding them much easier for the bad days or at least new options where there were fish. Many will only search when the bite is tough which makes it even harder to find new spots at least in my mind. Oh he would just be upset and complain the whole time until we did get on more fish many times in an area we may have never really tried..

I've been told, and I believe, that you never leave fish to find fish.

Exactly. Get your limit where you find them then go searching and play catch and release the rest of the day.

Maybe part of the reason I do this is I very seldom go to catch a limit the most fun for me is figuring them out and finding fish. I very seldom keep a limit maybe 4-5 times a year.
