Maybe a backwoods taxidermist would only have a standard form to work from. Today’s technology and 3D printers would be able to get it perfect.
What’s going to be somewhat of a challenge is finding a taxidermist that can paint. Taxidermist all over would be chomping at the bit to do it for free I’m sure.
    Nevertheless it’s too late now.
Wish he would have kept it alive to release.

Thats what I would have thought too but I called and check with several places and all told me the same. That was a couple years ago. Possibly it’s changed.

I kind of agree, and I'm sure he would have liked to release it had it been easier to certify weight. Then there would have been more controversy over hybrid, at least now the state biologist has samples, ray counts and such. I have heard those that say that a fish that giant is not reproducing anymore, I guess we will learn what was inside this one too. Oh, and by the way, he caught a 9lb green carp the other day too.

Wow! That's got to be mounted! I only dream of a catch like that.

    Default The big ONE.

I’m sure he released the Green Carp.
Did they determine that it was a hybrid?
Don’t matter, it was an awesome fish for sure.
    That seems to always happen.
Fishing for bass and catch a monster crappie. Fishing on bottom with a night crawler catches a record fish. Got rod hanging over the side of boat eating a sandwich and catch a monster. Luck plays so big of a part in most circumstances. Lol
    Great fish for anybody.
    Chuck.

Yes, the bass was released, 9lb is very big and still rare, even here. Probably 70 tournaments go by without a 9lb showing. One day I caught a 13,or 14" crappie from under a dock, and a bass charged it and turned back, how big did that one have to be, no fish story, guessing 12lb.

Okay, it is official, it is the new state record black crappie. Such an amazing fish even for this lake, I caught only three fish today, two were 15", and the little one 14".

Congratulations to the young man who caught the pig. That's a dream catch for anybody.
