Default Jig Head Styles - What Do You Use

With all of the different styles of jig heads out there I’m curious as to what technique you use each one for........
    1. Round Head
    2. Minnow Head
    3. Pill Head
    4. Darter Head
    5. Pony Head (Roadrunner)

Thanks for your replies and “Tight Lines” to all!

I only use #1 & #5 ... and both for casting, Pushing, and "flipping" (Livescope fishing) ... and every once in awhile I may even Longline a single rod with them. #1 is always with a plastic body, but #5 can be with a plastic body or the actual Road Runner marabou jig.

While I do have a small collection of Road Runner heads & Road Runners with plastic bodies (pkg'd that way), I've yet to actually use them ... so far. I've mostly relied on the marabou version, but do plan on incorporating the others into my Pushing arsenal ... whenever that method is warranted.

I only use one....Daiwa Gekkabijin Salt Water Light Game Jig Head. A #10.....#8.....#6 hook in 1/2 gram....1 gram.....1.5 gram and a 3 gram. Cast and retrieve only....98 percent of the time with a Trout Magnet body.

round head / ball head most of the time , runs true and performs like a trained bird dog .
the others often have a mind of their own and that can be a real problem fishing tight to or inside heavy cover and or with spooky fish

I've been pouring round heads so long some of the molds are almost as old as me. Anyway Do-it makes a bullet head mold that I use the 1/8oz of quite a bit in heavy cover especially fishing deep. When lifting the jig the protruding bullet head helps to "Walk" the hook over a limb. You can feel your way up easier. The longer profile catches well for me when the water is dirty and flowing. Round heads are 95% of my usage.

    I use 1, 2& 5. Mostly #1 and #5. Recently started using #2 with small 1 1/2” minnow tail bodies.

I'm still pretty new to all this but use ball heads and most frequently these days the "dart style" head that trout magnet sells. Seems to work very well for me.

    I use #1 and #3
1/16 and 1/8 round with regular or long shank 1/0 sickle hooks.
Also 1/16 and 1/8 Trokar pill Tungsten, with #1 and 1/0 Trokar sickles.
