Needing help figuring out difference between gen 3 and gen 4 my old 1199 died so I’m getting a new one. I have a Garmin livesope so I don’t need that but it says you don’t need black box what’s that for. I have a Garmin and 1199 up front this will be for console. Any help would be appreciated thanks

The G4N has WiFi that has no function yet==some future use.

The G4N has a port that was changed from earlier models to have a NMEA2000 connection without needing the NMEA2000 black box and Ethernet cable for that connection.

That's it other than the G3N is discontinued and the G4N is current.
