I have a boat but I also do a considerable amount of bank fishing.

Any one here fish from the bank. Since I do not own a boat that's only way I fish.

Started back fishing about 4 weeks ago. I have had the boat out once...that was yesterday. Struck out.....first time I’ve ever done that below Nickajack this time of year. So what to do.....had to pass by Normandy on the way home so stopped to feel the tug of some trout, fishing from the bank.....where in the past 4 weeks have caught dozens of trout each trip. Either from the bank or wade fishing. If I convince my wife to move close to the Little Red River I will in all likelihood get rid of my boat and fish from the bank or wade fish. While I enjoy catching crappie and bluegill, if I am 20 minutes from a premier trout stream catching all the 13-14 inch trout I want the boat is gone.

I own two Jon boats , but neither have been in the water in a couple of years .
But I hope to get the 14 footer out this year .
Now that I’m older I’m enjoying bank fishing more .
I enjoy not having to mess with the boats .

Aye, bank it is. I have a fairly nice raft, but was doing so well from bank and dock last year, I didn't use the raft that much.
I fish from a kayak. But honestly I catch more and better fish from the bank. May be because I grew up bank fishing.

there was that one time I considered it myself
but it was so much more complex and complicated than riding around in a boat with electronics and such at my disposal that it became obvious I needed a boat .
to constantly ketch crappie off the bank is quite a chore ,but hey someone has to do it ,right ?
and in the end in case ya dint know
KABOOM is the word from the bank ....
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
Most of the areas I fish aren't designed for bank fishing. Most are privately owned land and no trespassing allowed. I sure do wish there were more areas closer to me that had good bank fishing.
