    Default KY ice storm activities

So far we have power and life inside the house is normal. I thought it would be a good time to pour, paint dip, and assemble 1/16 oz horse head jigs for Lake Washington next month. I had forgotten why jig companies get so much $$ for them. It’s a lot of work! 1/8 to 1/4 oz next!Name: IMG_1607.jpg

Looks good! I’d eat them if I was a fish Do you powder coat or dip?

I enjoy making baits. I listen to old time radio detective shows while cooking and painting and the time flies by.

Made some jigs the other night and went to my box of parts for more swivels. Down in the bottom was a Netcraft catalog from 1990. The box was from my original order for parts. I’ve just added more to the old box but apparently never made it to the bottom.

My nephew asked his mom if she knew how to cook fishing bait when he was about 3, and it took her forever to realize he was talking about me making jigs. I let him help me paint them and explained the casting which he apparently thought meant I was cooking them!

I dip mine in powder paint and lose them so quickly I find no need to bake them.

We get our share of ice storms. They're definitely no fun. This year I switched from paint to fingernail polish. Dries very quickly and very hard

I was just sitting around tying hair jigs waiting to get some good ice. Got ice now and fishing is good.

I’ll be pouring jigs and tying hair jigs for a while. Some forecasts have us getting a foot of snow early next week then more later in the week. With single digit lows, it may be around for a while.

it wasnt terribly real bad cold yesterday and i tried to hit a spot at lunch break .....at 25 with a north wind i lasted all of about 10 minutes or less.
my tip froze at the 3 minute mark and the line in the reel at about the 6 minute mark and my hands couldnt take it much past that .
casting to fish way off the bank in them temps is really tough and i dont even know factually if i ever got bit
today i had an invite to go hit it a REALLY good spot and its 20 outside with a north wind ....i said prolly no thank you , even though i wanna pretty bad .
so i will likely hang around and do something else in the house i suppose ....cabin fever will set in quick , we have a not above freezing forecast for about a week ....looks like Phil was right on his prediction to me ....
