    Default Used boat prices

So I am back in the market for a boat after 6 years of being without one. I know I want a full windshield deep v model. But looking at prices holy crap. When do you guys think these prices will moderate? Precovid I could dang near buy a brand new boat for what folks are asking for 6 yr old used boats now.

Mid summer. Gas prices will adjust the market.

    Default Used boat prices

I’d say this coming fall. A lot of boats were bought during first phase of COVID. As they get more accustomed to other things to do, boating/fishing will take a back seat.

With metal prices climbing quickly, new aluminum boats will increase in price making used aluminum boats increase in price. I don't see them coming down any time in the near future.

You're also asking for a bit of a unicorn. I got a Tracker Pro Guide v175 single console 7 or so months ago and some guy from up in the great lakes area was going to drive down to alabama to get it, but I got it first. The walk-through version is hard to come by in the lower half of the country.

It's a 2014 and I paid 13.5k for it. It has a 24v Terrova, an onix 8si on the console and a helix 7 up front. All three of those were upgrades from the crap tracker puts on the boat at the factory. That's with a 115 Merc 4-.stroke. 6 years old and a new one would have been over 26k with the crappy stock trolling motor and depth finder. I felt like it was a decent deal. With metal prices going higher, I don't know that I could replace it for that.

Im a member of the walleye boatfor sale facebook group. Ive found some okay deals. Being in KS there are some around. I found one in december that was 4 hours away but had a merc 115 2 stroke on it. Really want a Yamaha 4 stroke. Im willing to drive to Sd, IA, NE, lower MN, or WI for the right deal. I had a 2014 G3 v172c with a 90 yamaha previously.

As with anything in life prices go up and prices can come down. But.....I have a relative in the insurance business who has had his best year ever in 2020. Folks buying boats left and right...new and used. I just lost a nephew who purchased a used boat 2 years back. He only got to go out in it one time before he passed. It was an older Bass Tracker with a 50 HP motor. It is being auctioned off online and the bid has already exceeded the price he originally paid for the boat 2 years back by a thousand bucks. So I don't know what to tell you. Around here it is a sellers market for sure.

One thing about a 4 stroke. Once you own one, you won't want another 2 stroke.

You ain't kidding. That 90 hp Yamaha I had was so quiet if it was windy there were times I didn't know it was running and would try to start it...

I respectfully disagree, have had both. The four stroke was quieter and better on fuel. The two stroke has more power and a better power to weight ratio, given the fact it's lighter.
