I have plenty of time to kill at work, so I have been looking daily at FB marketplace for over a year. Every boat I see is at least 20% over NADA retail. I have a couple more years until I retire, and then I'll get a bigger boat. Looks like I will be ordering one as the price of used ones now is close to used ones. Situation may change in a couple years though.

I have a funny feeling that soon there will be alot of used boats/ repos to hit the market. In my area people have been buying boats and jetskis like crazy and using the stimulus money as a down payment. Just have to wait and see how many payments they can make before the bank gets it back. I wouldn't wish that sort of luck on anyone but sadly I feel it's going to happen.

I am probably going to wait till this fall and see what happens. If a good deal pops up between now and then I will jump on it, but I am not going to rush things.

Its the same with campers, can't find new ones and people want ridiculous prices for used ones. Once Covid shut downs started, a lot of people bought outdoor equipment because it was the only thing you could do. The amount of brand new boaters I encountered in Ohio was nuts. Packed lakes, packed ramps, packed campgrounds. I hardly used my boat last year because I didnt want to fight the crowd and the ramp insanity. Luckily this year we got a place with a dock so my boat will be on the water from April-November. I figure in a year or 2 when people start going about their normal vacations and such, there will be a glut of used boats and campers on the market. People wont be using them and wont want to continue to pay for them.

Last couple days have seen some deals pop up, but I am not fast enough. Saw one today 24 min after it was posted, messaged them and it was already sold. Getting one day off a week for the next 50 days makes it hard to get in on the good deals, but making enough money we may end up buying new.

I have a coworker thinking about getting rid of his 2016 Lund 1875 Crossover XS. What do you guys think the real world value is right now?

Found some Crestliner 1750 fish hawks new for $33k plus tax. Thought about ordering a G3 V17SF. Wouldnt be able to take delivery until late this year though.

I just ordered a new Lowe Stinger 175 because all the used ones I have seen were 3-5 years old and looked like they had not been well taken care of and were only $2k-$3k less than what I'm paying for a brand new boat.

I too think in a year or 2, we will be getting some great deals on used boats and campers.

I talked to a major boat dealer this week. He told me he had no new boats. The ones sitting on the lot were pending financing. He also told me if I ordered a boat it would be sept/oct time frame to get it in and some manufacturers had quit taking new orders. He said he really saw no end in site unless the economy calapsed.
