If you find one that needs a new engine.... better check on availability as in there ain’t none. Dealer showed me several new boats without engines and said it would be May before he expects them in. So used boats are running almost even with the cost of a new boat and that was why i went with new. Good luck. You are going to have to hunt hard.
Maybe they will bite this one……

boat prices are really wrong these days .
you will likely look long and hard if you want to find a deal on one
and in a month the prices will soar even more out of sight when it warms up a bit

IMHO boat prices have gone CRAZY.
I could sell mine for way more than I paid, but then there’s nothing to buy, at a crazy price.
I do believe late summer there going to be some deals to be had.
At that point I’ll upgrade to a newer model.

The BBC restoration page is busy with owners fixing what they have. I buy all Beaters, fix'em like I want. Also less emotional trauma when I get stuck on a tree stump on Ross Barnett or bounce off a cypress in the swamp. Another benefit my boat wash soap allowance never gets consumed.

Over a decade ago I used to flip boats. Only one I ever lost money on was my last one because I bought it too new. I am patient. Historically fall is when deals are to be had on boats. If I need to wait, I need to wait.

When the covid virus ends, and people have to go back to work, and don't have time to go boating, and or camping, the price of used, will fall big time. If not by late fall, then possibly next years at some point. Will say this also, go look at used cars and trucks. Especially trucks with 4x4.

I was looking at purchasing my first Jon boat but prices are so darn high I'm thinking about getting a kayak for now and wait till next fall, winter and see if prices have come down.
