I've had Scotty's on my tin boat for a few seasons now. They work out just fine.
Any recommendations on what rod holders to buy for my boat? Also, are there any options for a DIY homemade solution?

What is the purpose for adding the rod holders, Trolling, storage, spider rigging, etc. I made my own and it does all 3 for me. I will take a picture of mine after breakfast and post it up. Homemade, using store bought stuff.

Spyder Lock 2nd to none. Their so good I sleep with mine!!!!!!!!
Millennium Marine Sypder Locks are awesome. They adjust in every direction possible and are super sturdy. You'll want this flexibility when spider rigging so you can get your spread correct as well as your tip height off the water. Can't go wrong with em.

greatplump this is my homemade rod holder setup for tight spaces. It may be hard to see on the Stbd side due to black in the background but Port is easy to see. The second to last wire form holder is full length and the other 3 per side are cut down, re-threaded, reinstalled. The base is 7/8in handrail material with Driftmaster 7/8in Rod Holder Bases. I carry my 4 main single poling rods 2 on each side and can set out a rod or 2 on each side while single poling if I choose. Or I can set up to 8 spider rods out. Although they are very low to the deck when I do decide to spider rig my gear is at the ready.
