    Default Bass Pro Catalog

The 2021 Bass Pro catalog came in the mail yesterday!

Anyone have good memories of getting the catalog in years past?

Always fun to look through and start making fishing plans for the year. Name: IMG_1101.jpg

I do have good memories but not sure why anyone would still put out a catalog.

I absolutely loved to get the Cabelas Master Catalog, as well as the fly fishing specialty one. They were the best of their era. Selection today no where what is was, but still enjoy shopping there.

...especially with Amazon and eBay at your finger tips. Many anglers have gotten more specialized in the last 40 or so years and picking & choosing from different lure categories doesn't have the appeal it once did during cabin fever months not to mention the tons of stuff stored over 40 years we don't use or plan on using !

Guess I'm old. I remember their 1st mail out catalogs. They only had 3 boats. Bass Tracker I, II & III.
That was 20 years before internet or more. It was nice to lay that book in your lap and fill out a small order and wait for UPS to bring it to your door. COD.

Received a copy yesterday. I'm surprised that they are still sending them out. I did not receive one last year. Maybe they think people will use them more this year due to covid 19.

I have books on my phone but don’t really like it.

I like to physically turn real pages. I like paper.

I’m 49 yrs old. I have great memories of being a kid & even high school age and being so excited to get the catalog in the mail. It made me dream big of all the nice bass lures I Could have - or not have. About this time of year, I’d tie on different bass lures, fill up the bathtub & watch there action. Lol. Don’t have anymore bass lures.

New and innovative didn't usually mean either when it came to most new lures introduced - regardless the promoter or ad. But as I became more interested in lure design and cross species use, it was interesting to see new shapes that might have potential where I fish and what I fish for. Fishing catalogs made it possible to wonder when there wasn't much else to do being stuck indoors in winter, but buyer beware always applied as much then as today.
