To add a comment when choosing, and after reading a earlier post in this thread, on Ross Barnett I catch fish spider rigging only as a last resort. I don't carry heavy egg sinkers or like to have a bunch of added weight on my rod when fishing. Single poling is 95% of what I do so, due to the boat wakes on Ross Barnett especially above the 43 bridge, I happen to switch to spider rigging. Well the stiffer spider rigging rods were not catching anything but I had 2 WM Solo's, 12 footers with me, one on each side, and they were catching everything. The limber tip section in the fast action rods was absorbing the added movement from the boat wakes, presenting my jigs in a more palatable presentation. Caught a lot of fish that day by accident.
