Default Simple Question...what is the best Crappie lake in the country and why?

Tell us what lake you think is the best for Crappie fishing and why? Keep it fun, guys and gals!

    My pick: Lake Okeechobee
Why: Very large lake with, great combination of crappie size and numbers. Year round fishing and warm weather

Mainly because of all the great people I’ve met from that area. I can’t discount all the great crappie I’ve caught there either. That town appreciates what fishermen bring into the economy.

A little state park lake in Texas , was once listed in the top 10 best of Texas for crappie .
Abundance of crappie thru out the size ranges ,low pressure , scenic and full of wildlife .
ZERO striped fish and not many other fish in great numbers other than shad .
at least 6 docks set up just for fishing and a high amount of diversity on cover and structure .
coupled with its proximity to my house of a 45 minute drive it gets my vote .
a true gem for a crappie angler for sure
p.s. with a super nice swimming area with a large sandy beach with very shallow water a long ways out and a store right at the ramp with whatever a person might need to have fun on the water including a bunch of different water craft for rental
not to mention rules in place to keep it always family friendly ...AND no ski ing or jet skeez allowed

I wish we had places around here with docks and areas for fishing.

I use to think jet skis were an abomination on the water until the wake boats showed up in numbers on my two local lakes. Geez those boats absolutely make it dangerous out on the water so much so I fish at night during the summer just to be able to fish.
With that said the lakes here in middle Georgia get hammered by crappie fishermen but Lake Oconee still produces some very nice fish for me. Being disabled and not able to travel very far, I feel fortunate to have a lake 15 minutes from the house.

The one where the crappie are biting and I’m sitting in a boat on it!

I really cant tell you how much of gem it is and how family friendly it is .
If a person wanted to camp and swim and ketch crappie it is a destination lake
and it has pretty healthy channel cat population they stock in it every year .
no size limitations on them but you can only keep 5
crappie regulations are over 10 " and a 25 in possession limit
the crappie numbers that live in it are staggering and they can be had in all depth ranges in any of the warmer months
its a pick your poison and go pitch your jig kinda spot ...
