We purchase a fairly large quantity of steel and aluminum to use in our shop.
Since early December our steel prices on plate have doubled and aluminum is up around 20%. Much of it is Covid related. Workforce shortages. There are other factors involved but that’s a large one.
If you’re in the market for a new aluminum boat I would suggest pulling the trigger sooner than later. Tin boats prices are about to go up considerably.

I can only speak for one manufacturer, but they are still having supply issues from vendors due to Covid. I was at the Excel Boats plant in Union City, TN last week and it is sitting full of boats waiting for vendor items. My boat was ordered early February 2020, picked up last of July 2020, and I still haven't seen my terribly expensive top and side curtains. Suppliers have shut down, gone out of business, or just so behind they can't see daylight. I'm hearing it is the same for electronics.
