Default 14’ Rods for Spider Rigging?

I know this has been asked 1000 times on here cause I’ve read most of the threads. Most are older threads. But I’m still not any closer to deciding on some rods than I was before I read all the threads.

I’m soon going to buying a set of 14 footers to start spider rigging. Looking for an all around versatile quality rod. Ability to use shallow or deep. Various weights and such.

Rod recommendations? And why do you recommend? Techniques used with said rods? Thanks!!
    ......tight lines!!

I don't use them for "Spider Rigging", but I do use them for Pushing jigs w/1oz weights, and they are the BnM Capps/Coleman 14' rods. They're not as stiff as a PST, but "probably" a little stiffer than a BGJP.

I’ve had a set of 14 foot Jenko Spider Trolls for years and love them. Caught many many crappie with them. Usually don’t push more than a 3/4oz weight so I can’t say how they do with more weight than that but they are very responsive to light bites and stiff enough to boat flip Mississippi slabs

    I only use BnM rods.
    Period!
I’m sure there are other members that use other brands and will vouch for them.
Get the best you can afford even if you can only get a couple now and add as you go.
If you go cheap, you’ll only end up upgrading later and you have wasted money. Start with 2 rods spider rigging and add rods as you get more experience. Don’t expect to start with 6-8. It takes practice. Seen people do that and get frustrated only to quit. It takes lots of seat time and patience.
    Equipment matters.
    Chuck.

I have a set of 8 of the 14 footers Spider Trolls as well. I use them for spider rigging and for pushing jigs. I've used them with 2 ounces of weight pushing crankbaits on one trip to MS. They did okay with 2 ounces but they were loaded up pretty good. I use 2 of them in my staggered length pole setup for long lining. They are sensitive enough to single pole jig fish with, the tip is soft enough to detect a very light bite while spider rigging and they're strong enough to swing slabs in the boat. They are lighter in weight than some highly touted rods that I have held. I couldn't ask for more versatility from one rod.

Southern Crappie..great rods, 14' for spider rigging, have some 9' for long lining. Very tough rods.

I'm in the same boat. I'm currently using 12' Berkley rods and like them, but seems like when I fish with others with 14' rods, we get more bites. I found a set of Ozark rods, but don't know if I want to buy them. I'll keep following your post.

Jenko Cypress Creek for me. When i got into spider rigging I wanted a cheaper rod, but 4 years of spider rigging and pulling cranks and have yet to even break a rod tip. If i was to upgrade I'd look at the spider trolls, but doubt I will anytime soon.
