thank you man! I am using kickncrappie because I had a cabelas gift card haha
I have much better luck just holding bait still just at or above the fish while using livescope .
OK thank you ! I dont have a live fish finder, but Iv just been counting how long it took to go down/ or going all the way to the bottom then reeling up to figure out how deep I want it.

how do you feel the hits when the jig is falling?
thanks for the tip - I have been holding mine low unless I was casting
thank you for the advice! When you are retrieving deep how do you make sure your jig is at the same level in the water?
You watch for the line to do something that ain't natural.

When I began all this, I would cast a short ways and let the jig pendulum down to straight underneath me. Let it stay there and do nothing but try to hold it still, which can’t be done, but try. Also know that there are sweet spots in any area, and they can be small. Sometimes a crappie will hit your jig on the rise. The thump was there but unable to be felt because he caused your line to go slack. When this happens, your line will fall to the water, set the hook. The countdown has already been spoken of. Cast to a certain spot and count in thousands, jigs drop about a foot a second, and begin your retrieve. Next time, change the number. If they’re there you’ll probably find em.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
the winter schools often have bite windows , often times they dont feed well in the winter months all day long
you can often find herds of fish that just dont want to play
i have found early in the morning and late in the day on some lakes as to best winter bites
one thing for certain , movement more than a SLOW CRAWL will likely spook the fire out of crappie in cccold water .
our typical thing is right on the bottom 6 inches up and dont Move the jig
i rarely target suspended fish myself .
