Default Ultrex remote "Motor Not Found"

I went fishing this afternoon. Everything worked fine at the first stop. Moved about a mile and the I Pilot Link remote said "Motor Not Found." Tried to pair the remote to the unit about eleventy seven times and it won't pair. The remote was charged. Anyone got any idees?

Lets get methodical: Try the MK IPilot app on your cell phone - does it work? This will immediately narrow down the issue. If motor works with your cell App, the remote is the prob (uninstall/reinstall batteries to reboot it and try again).

If you get no connection using cell phone as well, issue is the motor. Reboot it by turning trolling motor breaker off, or disconnecting the plug if it uses one, then turn it back on/plug it in.. If you have no plug or breaker switch to momentarily shut off power to the TM, or a thermal-only breaker, you'll have to carefully disconnect the TM power cable at the breaker, TM side, wait 5-10 seconds. Then reconnect, and try motor again. That's what I would do, anyway.

Good thinking. Thanks. I didn't think about trying it on my phone. I also have another remote I can try pairing to it. At least I can narrow down the problem.

I haven't tried anything yet. I'll update the thread when I do.

I found out that there was a short between the trolling motor and the wireless remote. The short is located between my ears. I still don’t know why it lost it’s pairing but I did figure out this morning that it helps to pair it back to the TM if you press the pair button ON the TM head. I was pressing the pair button on the puck.

It happens to all of us at sometime or other. I’m looking to upgrade my trolling motor and little things that happen that others post will hopefully shorten the learning curve for this old fellow.
