Default BAD NEWS , and it HURT !

The most wonderful visits to water can end not so well . You think the trip went well , you are about to load the boat . And then the unexpected happens !
The reason I post this story is to remind everyone it can go sideways so fast that it defies the imagination .
Did I go to the emergency room you might ask , nope . Did I almost get really seriously hurt , YES !
Of course one persons version of seriously hurt isnt the same as the next one for sure . I imagine what happened would have spelled big trouble for a few folks .
Fortunately for me I landed just so so and the boat was being held still by the stiff north wind pushing it into the dock and the captain followed my orders of DONT MOVE THE BOAT !
So here we go , We rolled up to the end of the wooden dock ramp . I was in charge of the backing the trailer in detail . There was a shiny new board on the end of said dock .
I stepped off with my right foot on the edge of the dock with my left foot in the boat .
The board came lose of the opposite side just as I started to step up !
Now just visualize it , the boat moved slightly and I did a spread eagle split as the board jerked violently on its axis up towards my face !
Right foot went into the 47 degree water up to above my knee as the board with me like a baseball bat on my forearm as i tried to block it from hitting me in the face !
So there I was left foot in the boat , the ankle skinned up good, Right foot dangling in the water and right arm trying desperately not to lose the grip I had on the second dock board .
The captain started to go into action and i yelled DONT MOVE THE BOAT !
Was it precarious you might ask ,VERY much so and the north wind held the boat still and I ever so carefully managed to get back in the boat as I pulled it back closer to the dock with my left leg .
He was like are you ok ? I was like NO SIR but i dont think I broke any bones
Long story short the worst part was my forearm above my wrist , the pain was searing and by the time i got home i had a goose egg on it to beat the band !
So remember this , even when you are fairly nimble and expect the unexpected and even have eyes that are somewhat in the back of you head .
An accident might still come and bite you when it seems like it couldnt happen .
    OUCH IS THE WORD BTW

Oooh! That looks nasty, Ketchn. You did VERY well with that one. It would have been the ER for me. Some good fortune and you kept your wits about you.

Glad it wasn’t worse buddy. Those slick unfastened boards are dangerous don’t ya know. Hope it isn’t cracked or broken.

Be careful Man. We're getting older and we don't bounce like we used to.

Glad you weren't spilled totally into the cold water! I know it was asked but are you positive you don't need an x-ray. That's a large knot.
