Spray some reel magic on your line and rod eyes. Helps keep it from freezing every cast.

braid will freeze in the winter , along with eyelets
one of my most miserable trips was when it was below 20 and snowing
and I took braid because all the fish were in 35 foot of water and big

When in those conditions I will just dip my rod in the water and move it back and forth a few times ice gone.
