    Default Priorities

I hit the water once a week most weeks on my weekly west of DFW travels.
Its for my job and I go right by a simply marvelous lake full of crappie .
I used to only hit it from the bank most of the time .
One visit I met a fella that wanted me to ride in his boat .
I been riding in said boat for a while now .
the boat is a reconditioned old stick steer .
he paid 500 for it .
it runs like a rabbit and has a real cheap hummingbird piranha unit on the trolling motor
or did have i should say ....
he moved the graph and installed a Minnkota whatever self deploying trolling motor
now is it something i might do ,you might ask ?
not likely , but we all have different priorities right
his buddy asked him only one question about it ....
never mind the boat did you insure the trolling motor
sometimes crappie fisher folks gets a bit really serious about the ketchn of crappie for sure

One thing I've learned in my 52 years of living, you are gonna spend it on something. Might as well have a few things that put enjoyment in your life. A very close friend of mine passed away last year from cancer at 52. He saved every penny he earned putting away for retirement. Well, his widow and "another" guy are having a blast ripping through his life savings, large 401k and upwards of 200k in life insurance. A well known youtuber has a saying "All men die, but few ever live"... I'm not guaranteed to see tomorrow so I'm gonna enjoy today.

Wear that PFD, the life you save might be your own!!

I’ve been saying this very thing for years on here. Get what you want now. Worked 37 years in a pipe mill just to be able to get what I want. Enjoy your life now.

I once met a guy when I worked construction that had a $3000 stereo system in a $500 car. Still trying to understand that one.

On a trip to California in the middle 60's: maybe Arizona or New Mexico: we saw several shacks of 4x8 plywood and metal sheet roofing with nearly new Cadillac's in the drive. Priorities?

I'd say he has his priorities in order. His money, his priority. Probably not the wisest decision ever but I've made worse decisions in my past.

But if it's an ultrex I can understand as mine is the best accessory I've ever put on a boat. I'd insure it too.

Be happy he's offering the ride and a pic of said boat would be nice.
