Enjoyed reading this. The only thing I have found different is I often see crappie group around a jig in a circle and none of them bite it. You can slowly move it up or down and they will all follow it but none will touch it. If you moved it too fast they would swiftly swim away but if you stopped the jig and held it still, many of them would come back and form a circle around it again.
It surprised me how many crappie will run from a 1/64 jig when it drops in front of them but will return to look it over if you just hold it still. Given the difference in size you would think crappie would ignore a small jig, not run from it.
