    I don't have anything to go by other than my own body, but from the tip of my middle finger to the inside bend of my elbow is 17". I'm 5'11" and don't consider myself long armed. If it was 5 lbs, I would have had pics from certified scales and tape measure and promoted it pretty well.

    I wanted to follow up on this after reading more of the other post. This nursery water has been closed to fishing since 1939. The biologist refer to it as Jurassic Park, where big wild things live. The fish are kept from stunting by a large population of walleye and musky; fish with teeth. Those private/farm ponds may be the key to large crappie in your area.

    I'm not saying yea or nay but where is the measuring tape and scales, it's either officially recorded or it's not; and I don't know anyone that would have a crappie that size and not and not do weight and measurer.
