    welcome to the forum .
texoma is a great crappie lake .
in the summer the fish stay thru the heat in really shallow water on the texas side .
and i mean big ole thick slabs in 3 to 4 foot of water in 100 degree weather .
lots of whites over the 2 lb mark in there .
congrats on finding a few .
btw did you see the guy a couple years ago release the blackie well over 3 at the boat ramp in that video that went around ?

Ketchn, I didn't see the video but that is a big crappie. Guess if you catch one that big you can do with it what you want. You are correct about the fish staying shallow in the heat at that lake. Kinda crazy but the shad population is crazy too so there is food everywhere for them. Texoma is known for it's stripers but with a daily bag limit of 37 for crappie that tells you something too!

I might be not up to date but when I lived in Grapevine Texas used to make an exception for Texoma to match the Okla 37 limit.

Oh yes-2 different sets of rules. You would think they would see eye to eye on that but guess that's not for me to say. Same thing goes with the licenses. I don't buy a Texoma license anymore because I fish elsewhere in OK so have a Texas resident and OK non. I do see lots of folks from all over the country fish that lake so for them the Texoma license does make sense.

If you fish with 2 poles and catch a fish on one of them better put the other in a holder or something. I have seen guys lay one on the deck while putting a crappie in the livewell just to see it fly into the water. Stripers hit hard!

The Crappie limit is 37 per day over 10 inches on both Oklahoma and Texas sides.

it is only 959 miles for me so I don`t think I will be making that rip any time soon, sure wish I could catching Crappies close to 3 lbs would be a dream come true.
