    Default Bead alarms

Does anybody use the beads placed on your line at the tip section of your rod while spider rigging or drift fishing? My buddy Terry Poole set me up with this quite a few years ago and it works for my hang gliding technique. Just wondering how many guys use it rigging.

I asked in another thread, but tell us about hang gliding please? And yes, Yankee Doodler uses beads on his lines while spider rigging. I've been known to put those tiny little glass rattlers up inside my rod tips, that works too, and no external anything on your line. I always worried beads might get in way somehow.

Here’s an article in the Pa fish and game magazine that was done on it. I also have a video with Russ Bailey using it on Shenango lake in season four of his Brushpile fishing series on their site.

What’s the difference in drift fishing and “hang gliding?”

Controlling the boat when you’ve located a stump or Brushpile. Drifting, you’ll just keep going with the wind. Hang gliding I stop the boat with trolling motor and thoroughly fish what’s below. GPS Mark or bouy helps to keep you precisely on the spot. Then fish it from every direction. One direction always seems to get more bites than just sitting still on top of it. A lot of the time as I’m gliding across the brush I can see the depth of my bait from a certain direction and keep my bait just above the fish that I see there. If you’ve watched the video you’ll see me constantly looking at my locator to make sure I’m where I need to be. Dual screen is best but not absolutely necessary. The gps screen will allow me to stay on the mark if I don’t use a marker bouy.

Anyone have pictures, or video of the bead system? Sounds like it would be interesting topic.
