Thanks for letting us know that I got a couple of Lew's reels the same way I will give that a try.
I have a few Pflueger fishing reels with a hard rubber knob on the reel handles that over time has gotten very sticky. This makes it very uncomfortable and annoying when reeling in line. It is very costly to replace the knobs as it appears the entire handle needs replacement at a cost of 20.00 per reel and I have at least 4 reels. Searching the internet a number of people recommended a liquid called "Astringent" to clean the knobs. Walmart sells their own brand (Equate) as well is sold under the label of Seabreeze. The material I believe is used by women to cleanse their skin. I purchased the Walmart brand, Equate recommended by the girl in the cosmetics department (where the Astringent is located). Worked great and the reel knobs look new. Just wanted to pass on this information to anyone that also has this problem.

Probably because the "cleansing" ingredients are Denatured Alcohol & Butylene Glycol, with a little Glycerin thrown in (Seabreeze brand ingredients) so I'd expect the Equate ingredients to be similar, if not the same, but in different volumes.
Thank you! I own 1/2 dozen Presidents, but have yet to experience this problem. Now, if I do experience it, I'll know what to do!

TTI Blakemores Reel Magic.....Good stuff spray your whole reel down line and all. Frees things up and keeps them from sticking...works on squeeky boat seats too. Available in the fishing dept. at Walmart.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
