Default Bass pro cyber monday Helix 12 G3n Mega SI

Ok people.. BP has the bird on for $1999 for the G3.. I'm looking for a new one and can't decide to buy this or just purchase the G4... I'm not going to have the mega live this spring, I use garmin for that... but I will upgrade my Riptide later with a new unit with better spot lock.. So get the G3 or fork out the 500 more for a G4 ??

I would call Brian at BBG Marine and see what he would sale you a 3 or 4 for I was thinking you could get a 4 for that price but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't spend $500 more for a G4N. There just isn't a compelling reason to in my mind. Spend that money on getting a TM with Link built in.

What other HB equipment might you buy in the near future? I know that is a difficult question since you can not know what HB will bring out in the next six months.

The reason I ask this is I had the same problem earlier this year with a Solex model and decided to take the older unit to save $500. A few months ago I thought I would like to buy the mega 360, only to find out it would not work with my Solix unit. Had I bought the latest model and paid $500 more that unit would have worked with the mega 360. So to get the mega 360 I would have to trade in my 6-month-old unit and pay $1000 more to upgrade to the unit that would work with mega 360.

So my saving $500 would cost me $1000 six months later. I was set up to make the trade and pay the additional $1000, only to be told the newer unit was out of stock and they did not know when it would be back in stock. I've now decided not to buy the mega 360, although I would have bought it had they had it in stock.

I still wish I had spent the extra $500 and gotten the latest version.
