Default Amazing the amount of rain in a day!

We've been in a drought for months and my pond's water level was only a few feet off bottom. The depth is usually around 7' but that dropped after weeks of no precip. My rain gauge showed 3" had fallen which equated to an increase in depth by 4' with more rain to fall in the next few days. An enclosed hole in the ground accumulates water faster than a flat field and in my case two downward angled drain pipes gushed water from the adjacent wetlands for 24 hours and still continue to pour water though slowly.

At least the fish won't be easy targets for predators.

We got seven inches of snow here in the last two days. Our lake was down four foot. That will definitely change.

For sure once it melts - though the ratio of snow melt to water is 10:1.
A nearby river is torrential in flow - the highest I've seen it this year.

We got over a foot of snow here. Wife stepped into it this morning, and her boots are a foot high, so maybe 13 inches.

Brrrrrr It reminds me of the lake effect snow we would get around Akron and Cleveland Ohio. Sometimes 12-14 inches at a time. I will take four inches of rain over all the snow. You are right my friend to put it all into perspective.

I saw 9 inches of rain one time in 2 hours and the amount of damage done in the next hour or so was amazing , places i think never ever saw water were underwater.
the pond we raised fish in emptied into the pasture and the entire pasture was flopping fish in 3 inches of water for as far as the eye could see
it plowed huge sections of fence down and we lost livestock as well .
high volumes of rain quickly are NOT a good thing

More rain expected over the weekend. Pond should be maxed out and more - thought not much more.
