Good 4lb Fluorocarbon line?

What's a good 4lb fluoro?

I tried some 4 lb berkely vanish and broke off the biggest crappie I've ever had on my line.

Sunline Sniper, Gamma Touch, and Seagar Red Label are all pretty good fluoro. Vanish isn’t great. Have to be more careful with knots with small fluorocarbon. I pretty much only use a Palomar with 5lb and below in fluorocarbon.

K-9 for the flourocarbon and gamma panfish for mono with low diameter and high break strength. Scott

K-9 is fluorocarbon coated, not 100 percent fluorocarbon. Still good line for some applications but to me doesn’t fill the same spot as fluorocarbon. And I like K9 stuff, I have some of their braid and the coated stuff on some of my rods.

I have knot problems with 4# thanks for the knot tip. I will try it tomorrow

Thanks for the replies. I'll just be using it as a leader. What knot do you guys use to tie it to mono? Double uni?..... and would you use a loop knot with fluoro?

Fur, I’ve done better with mono leader and a double uni knot. I’ve found it’s more forgiving unless the fish are super line shy. Just my two cents.

I mostly use it as a leader on braid, have never used it as a leader on mono. I have always used a double uni to join it with braid. I have used loop knots with fluoro in the past, they work ok, just make sure the jigs eye is closed and doesn't have any rough spots. Personally haven't seen loop knot making much difference, mostly attach to jigs with a Palomar or Uni knot.

I've watched countless videos saying that crappie aren't line shy, and I've caught them with hi vis line in clear water.

Only reason I'm considering using fluoro is because Guntersville is almost as clear as a well kept swimming pool right now. It's amazing how clear the water is.

That’s fixing to change if and when we ever get some rain! Low as it is it should stain up quick!
