Default can you catch crappie at night during the fall?

Is it possible? What would you have to do to do it? It gets dark so early it's hard to get any fishing in during the week, and that just hurts my soul! Can you catch them during the night around this time of year? Also would you be able to catch them without a light?

One of the best times to night fish IMO..... I've had a couple spots for after work trips and it's when the whale crappie come to feed.....
A glow stick on top of your float works well......
    Ain't that right Ketchum?

line snappin grande crappie with big shoulders screaming drag in the dark is about some of the best crappie fishing ever .
nothing like a 2 lber running up stream in the current and ripping drag for sure !
watching the float go down like it was sunk by a torpedo is way fun
it might be better than a thump in my book
