TRIFECTA SUCCESS !

The 3 of us went on a family mission yesterday . I took a day off work and we went on a family outing .
The agenda was slightly complicated , we decided we we would, Ketch a crappie , Ketch a first time rifle shoot for the 8 year old and her mom , and finally last but not least Ketch us a deer all in the same day starting around late morning .
Well did we ketch a crappie you might ask ? ....Yep BUT only one ! it was that close I tell ya . At lunch time the place was packed with people and we barely managed to ketch one .
Next up lets get to our place in the country and shoot the 22 . the little one has never fired a weapon nor has her mom . So off we went to pop pop a bit .
It was a chore teaching them to shoot a rifle with a scope on it but to be sure it went quite well .
Next on the agenda was pack like sardines in my favorite one man deer stand and wait out a deer . Now they had already decided unless it was a big buck we were not going to take a deer .
Add more complication to complication I tell ya ....
We saw a few don't shoot deer and about 20 minutes before time to go ....right straight across the open field coming straight to us was a nice 8 point . Really big bodied and for sure a nice harvest .
I told them he will come straight to us if we don't spook him and his agenda is the does in front of us . Nobody move a hair and COVER you ears .....
He walks right in like he owns the place and ...
KABOOOOOM ! parked him just like that we did .....
man was he a heavy deer for our part of the world .
by 10 pm he was skinned and iced down and it was most assuredly a long fun filled day .
Good Times in a not so fun world can still be had , make it happen my friends

i did meet a person who i don't know in my house slippers when we were trying to ketch a crappie btw ...
and the little had on her pajama pants and as we walked away saddened by the lack of crappie cooperation .
he said ....WOW i didnt realize i was in the presence of the KABOOM

that was fun day shared with the fam! Nice big bodied deer for sure especially for TX! WTG and teachen the young one was bonus as well.

Awesome story. Some day there's gonna be a young man that's gonna be smitten with your girl. She's gonna tell him a few stories.... And he's gonna be like "You can so NOT do those things". And she's gonna be like kaboom watch me catch this here crappie.

That's great, but I got to ask did ya save or waste the tail. There is some great jig hair there to be sure. I don't hunt but friends that do save them for me.
