one thing for certain jig colors wouldnt matter very much
and think of the money you would save on rods and reels
no more braid or mono discussions either
and the length of your rod would be of zero interest as well .
think of the narrow learning curve on the up under docks .
if you could drive it well and not hit the dock you could clean out some older guys brush pile quick.

wouldnt that be great yawl ,who cares if it raining or cold or hot or windy outside .
just drop by the water , toss out the drone and on your way .
no more boat ramps or boats or gasoline damaging the ecosystem .
    i love technology ......
If that drone could take them home and fry them it might be worth the money LOL

I think you missed what he was saying. He said (which I disagree with) is that HB was waiting to see if the tournament directors of the major tournament trails would disallow the use of livescope.

I disagree with the impact because a LOT of people who don't fish tournaments that use livescope. Even if disallowed during tournaments, the anglers could still use them pre-fishing.

"Cheating" wasn't being used in the literal sense, but rather figuratively. I don't disagree that it was a game-changer.

Garmin would have profited hugely if Livescope had been "banned" from tournaments. Think of the advertising... "So powerful, it's been banned from major tournaments".

I'm disappointed that Garmin was able to catch the competition flat-footed on this innovation. I'm not a fan of livescope, but I do look forward to competition driving prices lower.

As far as I am concerned if a person is following the laws and using electronics in tournaments as well as fun fishing in a legal manner that's not cheating.

If you accuse folks of cheating on a public forum I think you should offer proof.

Perhaps, and I've discussed this with SK Crappie. We seem to be at peace with it. He seems to be a good man and I have no animosity towards him . Plan to watch his latest filming production asap.

I don’t think it will drive prices much lower. They all are priced about the same. Comparing 12” screens to 12” screens. And hummingbird already saying the transducer will be $1499. Garmin is holding back again. Soon as lowrance and hummingbird drop something that is good next year, garmin will have something in their hip pocket coming for the fall/spring the next year. No telling what we will be seeing in the next 3-5 years. But get ya check book out. No matter what is coming. It’s going to be pricey. Lol. The competition is a good thing though. It will bring out newer technology for sure

There is a lot of electronics sales retailers taking advance orders and payments, for Mega Live, plus quite a few people have chatted with HB,,,so I guess we will just have to wait it out and see how it all develops. Plus, HB has a upgrade in software just released for Solix to work with Apex as well as Mega Live so it seems to me, it’s all coming together as time progresses.

    Slightly concerned

I received the new BassPro catalog yesterday. Nothing in it about MegaLive. I would have trout it would have been in there if it would be out by summer.

Sources within the industry say it’s going to be next year before it’s on the market.

I hope you’re wrong but I could see it as a HB stunt to keep people from going to Gamin

Lead time for caralogs are 6 - 12 months. They start working on next year's catalog as soon as that one goes to the printer. Printing adds more time.
