I have a few questions. Since you're looking at a 2-D image, wont a wider beam just make it more difficult to put your jig in front of the fish in front view, not really knowing where your jig is adjacent to the fish left to right?

Also, there is a good bit of computing that goes on in those black boxes and some heat generated. They're created like a small amplifier to dissipate heat. The first Gen Scopes didnt need a black box and we all saw just how behind and lacking it was compared to the LVS32 setup.

Bird has incredible mega side and down scan and Im not ruling them out, because there is no way I would sub my Mega unit for a Garmin at my helm. If they have figured out a way to get better image quality, let alone Mega quality and do it without a black box, we all need to be buying JOUT equity right now.

If you accuse folks of cheating on a public forum I think you should offer proof.

I don't think I'm tuning in your You Tube Channel anymore.

I'll stand on what I said.....bud. Got anything else to say I'd suggest a PM. No need to make a mess in this playground.

    1499.00 up front.
I’m waiting until SOMEBODY has images before I give 1499.00 for something unknown.
If it is what Humminbird says I’ll be all in!!!!
    Otherwise I’ll stick with Garmin.

Garmin will , I think, be offering improvements. Which will be best--I do not know.

Sure would like to dive in, but 2998.00 is a little much for me right now. (That's adding the 1499.00 I'm going to be spending on Momma to maintain a balance on the homefront.)

I hear ya. Works well in this house too. Now I just need to convince her the new boat is for both of us.

this is an interesting discussion with some definitive high and low points for sure ...but ...
i will wait for the underwater remote control drone version with the harpoon ,
i would much rather spear the fish i chase with my electronics .
one thing for certain jig colors wouldnt matter very much
and think of the money you would save on rods and reels
no more braid or mono discussions either
and the length of your rod would be of zero interest as well .
think of the narrow learning curve on the up under docks .
if you could drive it well and not hit the dock you could clean out some older guys brush pile quick.
heck the unit i want is the smartphone app one ...
where i could go to work and just spear a few from my desk .
wouldnt that be great yawl ,who cares if it raining or cold or hot or windy outside .
just drop by the water , toss out the drone and on your way .
no more boat ramps or boats or gasoline damaging the ecosystem .
    i love technology ......
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
