Fortunately/unfortunately I cover a pretty wide swath of internet fishing websites. I'm looking for a post that I think was on here. The discussion was on talking with successful fisherman about the lures that they used. The part that I found very interesting was that the poster was not interested in the lure so much as to the thought process used to get to the location, technique, and lure that was used. That would be far more valuable info.

Look up posts by Spoonminnow, he posts those types of things often.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
This thread has a reply about thought process. Is it the correct one, dono.

BINGO--- We have a winner. SuperDave336 scores. Ketchn was also correct, it was a reply to his post. jeremy360
posted a comment that I think would be far more valuable than "what lure did you use?".
Thanks to all

Lol, funny thing I instantly thought about that thread but wasn’t sure since it was more about Shad then lures, etc. but like Ketchn said a reply talked about thought process. Glad I could help.
Lol. Sometimes threads don't walk in a straight line. Some actually end up in a train wreck.
