Yeah, pretty much. It's basically designed to tell the angler what colors are most visible at the depth of the probe (it reads light penetration levels) and under what water clarity conditions (clear / stained / muddy) in which you're fishing (but you have to determine the clarity condition).

i break every rule on traditional colors for whatever the condition calls for all the time
i even go the opposite way to the tenth degree on what is suggested for whatever the conditions are all the time .
i use bright jigs on dark days , i use dark jigs on bright days and everything in between .

All true but like everything else it could be fun to play with when the crappie won't bite. LiveScope took away my excuse the fish are not there on the days when I can not get them to bite. Now I will be able to say the darn things didn't bite because I didn't have the right color combination in my tackle box for that days light conditions and depth.

I have an original model that I used quite a few times back in the day. Had a cheaper model eagle at the time that didn’t have the pixels we have today. It was fun using the CC in tandem with the eagle. Can’t remember if it increased my catch rate tho.

Presentation is most important in my honest opinion . Colors are to catch fishermen . I think any dark color and Chartreuse will usually work .

You know me, ketchn, I'm not a jig purist when it comes to fishing. If people using minnows are catching them and I'm not while using jigs I will get me some minnows. I prefer jigs because I'm lazy and cheap. I prefer not to use minnows as I don't want to re-bait with every cast and I don't want to spend 25 cents with every drop of my rig into the water. But as I've told you in the past I don't see any difference between using minnows and jigs when you must add a crappie nibble to the jig to get them to bite. And jigs can be more expensive than minnows when you insist on fishing with 4 # mono in brush piles, constantly losing your jigs.
