As far as jigs go, I’ve caught both black and white crappie off the same brushpile. I never think about changing jig bodies to target one over the other.

I've caught some of my best crappie using the Joker. Always carry some in my tackle bag.

almost anything will eventually ketch a crappie if you keep it wet .
look at the crappie thunder umbrella tube thing , it ketches crappie well.
what we see and what they see are 2 totally different things .
i wouldnt personally use a joker for the average black crappie myself .
its more of a big white crappie bait .

I've caught quite a few on the Joker, all black crappie, because that's all they have where I fish.

Why do you consider this more of a white crappie bait than a black crappie bait? I mainly use baits similar to this, crappie magnets. When I am in waters that hold both black and white I don't find one hitting crappie magnets more than others.

A friend of mine swears the Joker is one of the best, maybe even the best, white bass baits made. I tend to believe him as when I have the opportunity to be in the boat with him when the white bass are actively pursuing small shad he hooks up about every cast when he has his favorite color combination Joker hooked on a white 1/8 oz. jig head.
