We have all black crappie here in CT and for sure, the BG shad will catch them. Next crappie you catch, notice how big that mouth is compared to a trout or a bluegill mouth; they can suck that 2" shad bait in like you or I eat popcorn at the movies. Their mouth is proportionally more like a large mouth bass and 2" is the perfect snack size for them.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

No self respecting crappie would ever consider turning it's nose up at a delicious BGBS, regardless of where he is!

They are great baits and I’m glad you get so many of them in a pack because they don’t hold up well when you’re catching a lot of fish. I don’t hesitate to put a new one on so I go thru a bag in a few trips or so. They do work anywhere and any waters.

The crappie with a baby shad in the pic I posted was around 7 - 8" --- yes they will catch small crappie, I have caught 5" dinks on BG baby shad.

I caught one last week on a BGBS that wasn't but about twice as long as the bait. LOL Maybe a 4" fish. 1/32 head with #2 hook.

We catch a lot of Panfish on them, does not matter if the lake has Shad in it or not.
