Default Finding crappie with help from a map card.

Eric Cagle who won the Crappie Masters tournament last month in Louisiana explains how he finds fish with the help of a map card in this article. It’s a simple idea, wish I had a map card like that. It’s at A Guide to Fishing Alabama | Tips, Techniques & Locations. Guess I’ll need to upgrade.

Thanks for the video. Looks like tip on map card starts at about 26 min.

Just updated my Garmin and it now allows colors for selected depth ranges. If the wind wasn’t blowing, I would be trying to find crappie-holding brush piles instead of writing this.

Here is an update to using selected depth ranges to find crappie as described by Eric Cagle. I now use it every time I fish and it worked great until it got cold and the fish related more to balls of bait than cover. Also, if you have a good number of waypoints established that fall within the highlighted range, you are golden. Some days it’s a gravy train. Other days, at least you don’t get skunked.
