Seems a lot of us took great offense to Dicks reaction to the Sandy Hook shooting years ago and refuse to darken their door ever again......at least that's my stance on Dicks.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Ah. I was around 8 when that happened so I don’t know enough. Will have to do some searching on that.

I have the StCroix 5`6' Ultra light and luv it mine is the Avid, I am the type that luv to fight fish instead of just hoisting them in to the boat, and this rod just makes it fun. It also makes a very good dock shooter.

I’d use a cane pole before I’d use a free rod from dicks

Yeah......a lot of people don't realize they also own Field and Stream stores which never instituted the same loss of product offerings and they did in the Dick's stores.

I have the 7ft light extra fast, it light and sensitive the extra fast action gives it enough backbone for a solid hook set but I also use braid so that helps. I got this rod on sale and it's has become my favorite for casting 3/32 to 1/8 jigs.
