    Default rod thoughts

any comments. i am thinking of another crappie rod, i have the wally marshall signature series 7ft one now, and looking for my next one, any pro anglers or acc crappie guys thoughts probably gonna try an 8 footer this time, any pros and cons of an 8ft that i should be aware of, will be using it for fishing from a boat and some shore fishing, hoping i might get a little more distance over my WM 7 footer. i am hearing positive things on the pro angler rods and the acc crappie stix, what shall it be.

Just my opinion, I don’t think that you’ll find a noticeable difference in the casting over what you have now. For accuracy, I like a shorter rod, like 6’ or 6’6”. My favorite rod is 6’6” and I can do everything with it except very tight quarters where a 5’6” really shines. Sensitivity will probably be about the same within the same general price point. I prefer cork grips, good luck in your search.

Agreed, nothing wrong with having a shorter rod in the arsenal. They are extremely accurate and you get surprisingly long accurate casts with them.

I fish from a kayak and my main poles are 6' & 5'6". I bring the 6' rod when pin point accuracy doesn't matter but use the 5'6" setup more. I always pair either of the longer rods with a shorter rod. The pflueger president sp20 is fantastic with my 5' B n M dock shooter. I also use a 4'8" pflueger president combo, don't know why I don't here more about that combo on this website. Dick's sporting goods will deliver 1 to the door for $70 & their worth every penny.

    Just something to think about.

You also have the BnM Sam Heatons. Pretty nice rods for the money - should fit about any budget.

I bought a ACC GM08M 8’er and it is my new favorite rod. Not too expensive and I cast and vertical jig with it.

I've got four ACC Crappie Sticks and like them very much. I've got other rods that I also like a lot so I wouldn't put ACC up on a pedestal. I will say their customer service is great. I had the postal service break one of my rods during shipment and not only did ACC send me a free replacement it was shipped so fast it must have come airmail.
