Those that have this rod, how do you like the reel being at the end of the rod? That is my only concern. Seems it would be like a fly rod to me.

this is why i prefer extra long rod buts on my regular seat spinning gear , the balance part and the rest against the forearm is key .
i know a bunch of real good crappie fisher folks that use rear seat rods btw ,just not i said me ...for crappie anyway ,,,,

You can still hold the handle near the top of handle and have the same set up . Only difference is where the reel is nearer the elbow than wrist .I have a 12 ft. Sam Heaton in both reel seats , love both .
