Would like to make a trip to Washington St. to do some Halibut fishing. Wondering if you have been and have any recommendations on area, time of year and a Charter?
Thanks in advance.
I dont know much about Washington but I have been on multiple trips out of different ports in Alaska , halibut feed heavily on decaying salmon and salmon body parts when they make the river runs . The mouth of some river system that has a salmon run is what i would look for and a charter service close by .
and the real big ones are NOT the eaters , around 40 lbs or so are best and the further north up the coast line you go ,the better quality the fish are as table fair . might want to do a day trip and cross the border and go out of Canada maybe ?
one thing for certain it isnt real exciting as fish ketchn goes . big bait on the bottom tug tug tug ......real in a huge wet carpet ....its all about the food item on halibut
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
