In a world with lots of bad news and lots of not so fun things going on it sure warms my heart to run across a smile and a good attitude . My friend Cellis invited me to visit a spot here in town that is often overlooked , or I guess I should say he accepted my invite to show him what it has to offer .
Anyway we met up late morning and hit it until a bit after lunch and I did my best to put him on some of my locations there I like . First stop was a bit pale on numbers and size but it typically is an afternoon spot . Next spot is a sometimes there are good fish in it and some times not . Lots of bites there and again no real size to them .
As they say third time is a charm ....third stop was sling festival with a fair number of good fish in the mix and a constant bite !
Hit spot 4 and my friend put a hurt on some nice quality fish while i struggled terribly and even went so far as to ketch a DRUM !
Last stop of the visit was open water and the fish were there and decent size and semi cooperative . It was purely recreational crappie fishing and we let them all swim on .
Sure was a jim dandy day out there with a nice guy and some decent bites . It's been 2 years since I have had the chance to chase them there in a boat and to be sure it brought back some good memories .
Thanks sir for the boat ride and hope it met with your expectations . Gotta love not a SINGLE crappie boat except us out there .
KABOOM is the word
p.s. best fish seemed to be holding well in water around 10 foot deep btw . brush piles and docks and jigs . pretty much the norm for that lake .
