    Default Parasite

Not a crappie but I pulled this bluefish out of the water and as I was cleaning it I found this. Any idea what it is? A parasite? Name: IMG_1448.jpg

If you look up "fish louse" images you'll find some that look like that. There seem to be several different types called that.

    Also,

    Yuck.

It is a tongue-eating louse. Find them here and there on blues and striped bass, a couple flounder. Look up cymothoa exigua on Wikipedia.

As far as I know they are only in the mouth and gills, not the meat.
