    Default Rod storage question

My friend has an aluminum boat that doesn't have good rod storage. Wants to maybe figure out a way to carry 3-4 rods on boat without taking up floor space. Rack of some sort either on to of gunwales or on outside of boat.

    Thoughts appreciated.

Millennium rod transport rack, I also have one and it works very well for my 14ft spider rig rods.

Call Gene Johnson at 601-750-3519.....he has all the Millineum Marine products on sale. You want the Rod Transport Rack. It is the best one I have ever seen.

I've been looking at the idea of a rod holder that plugs into a seat base in the boat the last couple of years. The part that always turned me off was how to keep the lines from getting tangled as they blow in the wind. I recently(sometimes I swear I live in abasement) discovered Rod Socks. An easy to pull over cover for the rods.

so now I am going to build one. Idea is to take two of these:

mount them on a bracket that I attached to a seat base.

Put a center rod going up to two of these Name: roldholder 2.png

then use the rod socks to keep the rods neat and tidy in the wind,

One trick I learned from others who have done something similar is to put a pin in the seat through the seat post. The wind drag can be enough to pull it up and out of the seat base without some type of pinto hold it in there.

Not an original idea, but seems workable

Thanks for the replies, I'll pass this along to my friend. He doesn't use the internet much.

    Also check out Robot Check

I'm considering these even though I have a rod box. The rod box has no organizer in it and everything becomes a tangled mess. A buddy has the two-tier model of this (or something very similar) and it holds 8 rods pier tier. This version has only a 4" "riser", so make sure that's enough for where he wants to mount it.
