Default long story / my 60 years of fishing

Great read, I really enjoyed it!
I too wish I knew, really knew which crappie you should let go.
I prefer to cook and eat the 10-12 fish. However, if it was better to keep the bigger ones I would.

i still own a cuda and a mark something ,the cuda is a color unit the mark something is black and white .
them graphs are flat out deadly in the right hands , i cant tell you the fish numbers on crappie that wish they didnt have me on top of them with those cheap graphs
i used to go out in my boat with other boats and they had expensive graphs and many many times couldn't see the brush piles on down imaging that looked like houses on my graph .
we would pass over one and i would be like OMG turn the boats around that pile is loaded up !
they would be like ,,,,hmmm,,, i only saw a few fish and nothing on the bottom ?
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales

I can relate very well to this. The first depth finder I had was one of the old dial with the flashing red lines.

My great-grandfather would never believe they put a man on the moon either. He also didn't believe that figure skaters could spin as fast as they do. Thought it was a camera trick.

Good read. I too started fishing young but don’t have the stories and background you and a lot of others have been blessed with. Thanks for sharing it all with us.

Thanks good read, "Release the 10 to 12'' fish and keep the big ones . Crappie have a short life span in the south . The big ones are old and will most likely not live much longer." Had a fish biologist tell me the same thing, most people probably do the opposite. I might add he also said, " the big fish have already laid thousands of eggs."
