TM's will catch about anything. You could also try the Crappie Magnet, which is a bigger version of the TM.
There are lots of good plastics that will work just fine.
Are normal trout magnets effective at catching Crappie? Am I better off with either the TM Crappie set or I also have some 1/32 Mr.Crappie jigheads with some swimmertail grubs.
thanks!

They work but not any better than the hair jigs I normally use. And hair jigs can be fished all day long without having to adjust the body or changing out the bodies.
I use them all the time for crappie! Especially if the bite is tough and you need to downsize, they can be deadly.

My experience has been that hair outperforms plastic in water Temps lower than 55 degrees.

I rarely post a crappie report on here. But I catch about 2000 crappie a year....all on Trout Magnets. It is a great lure but needs to be fished with light line. You can see the results of it with crappie on my YouTube channel....TroutMagnetMan.

I bought some of both earlier this year and while I have caught sunfish, bass, and pike with them, I have yet to catch a crappie..lol
I honestly think it's me, where and how I've used them. I need to put more time in with them on better fishing holes. The fact that I have caught the fish I have shows they are considered a tasty looking morsel to fish.
