    Default Pre Thanks

this is a quick shout out to Ez and pre thank you . The folks going out on the pontoon later with us are desperate to learn how to ketch crappie .
Thank you so much for letting me invite them , that dad and his son are about to drive me nuts with the excitement that has come over them .
I met them once at a bank spot and showed them how to ketch a few and for the last year or so the dad has begged me to show them more of it .
I sent them to a bank spot back in the spring and they had a good time there but to be sure he is always asking if he can bring his son and go again with me .
hopefully the fish cooperate and again thank you for your generosity , not many folks left in this world that are cut out of that cloth my friend

I'm sorry I had to cancel. Please give my apoligies to them and tell them we will definately do it as soon as it is safe and my boat engine has been checked out. I suspect the oil pump may be the cause of the leak and don't want to run the motor until I am sure.

That individual and his family are not coming to the slips now. Not only is he sick but his three young daugthers also have it. He telephoned some of his frineds on the dock and they told everybody else.

I'm more concerned about those who were around him last week and don't know if they caught it or not from him. So I've decided to stay away from the slips for the next two weeks as it is not possible not to meet people on the walkways. if i do go it will be during the middle of the day when everybody is at work and I won't be staying long if I do go at all. I feel sad for all those who deny this virus exists, getting themselves, their families and their friends sick from their stupidity.

I need to repair my trailer where the "nice" person stole the lights and license plate holder from it before I can take my pontoon in for it's 300 hour service and have them find and repair the oil leak. But that will need to wait for a couple of weeks now since the trailer is kept at the marina storage.

So I will not be doing any fishing over the next couple of weeks, maybe a month or longer.

Thanks for the compliment. It will probably take a couple of weeks to get the boat engine checked out and repaired. Since that is also the time recommended for quarantine from exposure to the virus it will all work out. I was not at the slips when the sick family was there but I don't know who was there and around them. No one wears a mask at the slips and almost everybody visits everybody else when at the slips. Since I'm in my 70's I consider it safer to just stay away from the slips for a couple of weeks. I am already experiencing withdrawal symptoms from not being at the slip.

But as soon as my engine is repaired I will be back chasing them again, letting them frustrate me by turning their noses up at the jigs I offer them.

No, the trailer is in the marina storage lot. I also need to get license plates for it. I haven't bought plates for three years now so I don't know what it will cost to get this year's plates. I quit buying plates for it after having the plates stolen two years in a row. I seldom need the trailer and saw no reason to buy plates for somebody else to use.

In fact I use it so seldom that I am thinking about fixing it up and selling it. Tired of paying the marina for storage on it when they provide no security and take no responsibility when things get stolen while in their storage lot. If I could trust the marine repair shop at the front of the marina I would not ever need the trailer. But I found out that I can not trust them after letting them work on my 28' cabin cruiser.

trust in people in general to do what is right is not something that typically ends well these days .
i have an idea about a boat slip for you we might need to chat about .
its a longer drive to be sure , but i imagine its cheaper and the crappie are stupid there and quite often pretty big .
my truck mechanic just bought an old marina and is moving his shop there .
he is going to rent some slips .
offered me one a week ago as a matter of fact .
of course its shallow water over most of the entire lake
but it is kind to crappie fisher people for sure

Went to marina locked storage lot to measure my pontoon for new planks. It was not there. So tomorrow I must go to the marina to talk with the manager to find out what they are going to do about the missing trailer. I suspect they will tell me to notify my insurance company as they are not responsible when a trailer is stolen out of their secured facility.

Don't know why someone would have taken my 7 year trailer as there are a lot of nicer newer ones parked in the storage yard.

somehow i think if they have it inside a locked facility and you pay for storage they should be held responsible .
but i know a fella who had a brand new VERY expensive BIG honda boat motor stolen off his boat in a highly secure storage facility and even though they had video and lic. plate numbers , nothing was done about it .
his insurance had to pay up ....and we wonder why insurance is so high these days
