One of the fish from yesterday’s catch was a ‘Black Nose’ Crappie. First one I’ve caught in Jordan.

Good Job !! You know, the biologists & DNR gang say that Blacknose don't "fight" any harder or different than a regular Black Crappie, but I beg to differ. They are the only Crappie species that I've caught that has jumped completely out of the water when hooked, and I've had that happen several times .... one even jumping clear over the bow of my buddy's Tracker TX17
I've even called it (as being a Blacknose) about 75% of the time, before seeing the fish, just based on the fight.

I would ask (if you remember) : Did that Blacknose "act" or "fight" any different than other Black Crappie you've caught ... either on this particular trip or previous ones ??

@CrappiePappy, This fish behaved about like a normal black crappie. Made the long side to side runs. He did break the surface and flap a little when about halfway in. I had a few normal phase Black Crappie do that as well though. Interesting insight into the behavior of ‘Black Nose’. I’ll definitely be looking out for jumpers on future trips.
