my new cane pole (3)

The only bugger spot on my cane pole rig, was a crack up front on the eyelet. It didn't allow any water to get into the hull but my ocd couldn't take it. I talked to two buddies at Waymatic, our local fabricating plant, and plans were made for the repair. Clint, buddy 1, is in management and design and his family owns the business. Shawn, buddy 2, is a welder there for 12 years and is a church buddy. I wanted to weld repair the crack and then add an additional plating over the repaired area. The final result was sanded, taped, and paint primered. Gong to run it like this a while to see if a closer matching color will be added, a rhino coating added, or just leaving it as is. I am very happy with the repair.
