Default The Summit and the ......

AS panfish series 5 footer . The Summit Pflueger is one of those higher end series reels and a bit more costly than some of the other series Pflueger reels but to be sure i have been testing it a good while and its a champ .
The All Star panfish is brand new and it went to the water yesterday for an hour or so for a test run . It performs pretty well and i think it wants 4 lb test rather than 6 on it . the rod is fast and light and will lift a large crappie . i wish the rod butt was slightly longer but so far it seems like a dandy short rod .
I had only a small window to pitch jigs and most of the fish ran small . I managed about 5 keepers in a herd of smalls and one was really good quality in the mix . H showed up about when i had to go and managed a few keepers pretty quickly and Ez just sat at the table watching and giving showing off his fancy Pepop jigs !
Had to run off to prep some chicken thighs for a family dinner and to be sure it was nice afternoon . fish were holding deep on cover and the fall is in the air . used only small baits as they wont play well with anything very large in there just yet . all the offerings were versions of split tails and in the one inch range on number 6 hooks .
thats the thursday report from the lake .
    and for sure ...

Good times, good pics, good report. Chicken looks yummy. I think I like those cork handles like that. I put one similar in my hand couple days ago, really good feel I thought. Something about that style cork? Anyway they look pretty cool. And very nice jigs!

Pepop makes beautiful jigs that belong in a shadow box on the wall. I might just make one some day when I get finished wearing out the hundreds I bought from him (smile).

I love a good Pflueger and I got respect for the All Star rods.
Riding to work this morning my truck temp thingy hit 59F. Come on Fall. Thanks for the great report.

I had a good day yesterday so I wanted to give you a chance to catch a few.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.

i got about 90 in it , but i got the reel a bit cheap thru a pro
    rod was 49.99 ....
reel runs i think around 50 or 60 new ?
its been pretty fun for a short rod so far
fast and a sort of stiff ....it is a for sure panfish set up ....
wouldnt probably be the best for fish exceeding 2 lbs
the larger 1.5 area fish i have managed with it are a handful
